How to Setup a Newly Purchased Company Owned Computer

Solution

1. Make sure that the OS of the computer is activated (licenses are on the Software Hardware Inventory)


2. Download and Install all updates on the computer.


3. Install all standard software

    1. 7zip
    2. AzInfoProtection
    3. Chrome
    4. OpenVPN
    5. Office 365 (activate using officer account)
    6. Symantec Anti Virus
    7. Teamviewer (latest version)
    8. Adobe Reader Pro
    9. Autocad (if needed)

4. Join the computer to domain (use joindomain account -> please create new joindomain account because you can only join 10 computers using an account)


5. Turn on BitLocker

    1. Rightclick on the partition
    2. Select Turn on BilLocker (if it shows some error edit the group policy by doing this run gpedit.msc go to Computer Configuration>Administrative templates>Windows Components>BitLocker Drive Encryption>Operating System Drives>Required additional authentication at startup)
    3. Save the bitlocker file on the computer and secure a copy on InfoTech Notebook under BitLocker just follow the format.

6. And you are DONE!
